1. Turmeric is useful for its colour, flavour and medicinal properties. It has a yellow-orange colour and is a common ingredient in Indian food. Turmeric is beneficial for the liver – it can strengthen the liver, meaning it’s a natural liver detoxifier. Turmeric may be helpful in preventing the blockage of arteries that can gradually cause a heart attack or stroke. The spice also has a cholesterol lowering effect. Cloves are dried flower buds from trees of the Myrtaceae family, found in wet and warm climates.
